Telcordia (www.telcordia.com), a global leader in the development of IP, wireline, and mobile telecommunications software and services, today announced that Dr. Adam Drobot, the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and President of its Advanced Technology Solutions business unit, has been appointed by United States Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood to serve on the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Program Advisory Committee (ITSPAC). As a federal advisory committee, the ITSPAC was established to act in an advisory capacity to the Secretary of Transportation on all matters relating to the study, development and implementation of intelligent transportation systems.
More broadly, the ITSPAC reviews areas of intelligent transportation systems research that are pursued by the U.S. Department of Transportation and provides advice on policy matters related to the ITS program. Through its sponsor, the ITS Joint Program Office, the ITSPAC makes recommendations to the Secretary regarding ITS program needs, objectives, plans, approaches, content and progress.
